Hans Eisenmann was a German politician who was born on April 15, 1923, in Ampertshausen and passed away on August 31, 1987, in Munich.

Hans Eisenmann’s Biography

From 1950 until his passing in 1950, Hans Eisenmann, a member of the Christian Social Union (CSU), was a member of the Bavarian state parliament.

As a flying instructor in the Luftwaffe during World War II, Eisenmann started his schooling and career. He attended the Munich Technical University in Weihenstephan from 1946 to 1949 to study agricultural sciences after the war.

He passed the state exam in 1950 to become a member of the higher agricultural civil service. From 1951 to 1958, Eisenmann worked at the agricultural office in Pfaffenhofen a der Ilm, rising to the position of director.

His doctorate, for his dissertation on The Marshall Plan Aid for Bavarian Agriculture, was awarded by the University of Munich in 1959.

When Eisenmann was elected to the Bavarian State Parliament in 1950, his political career officially began. He was first elected as a Bavaria Party member before changing to the CSU in 1954. Up to his passing, he continually served as a member of parliament for nine elections.

He was the district administrator of the Pfaffenhofen a der Ilm district from 1958 to 1969. Alfons Goppel, the prime minister of Bavaria, selected Eisenmann as the state minister for agriculture, forestry, and food in 1969.

In addition to serving as a member of the Federal Council from 1969 until his death, he served this role in six state governments in Bavaria.

Numerous honours and prizes have been given in recognition of Eisenmann’s accomplishments and contributions. He has been a member of the KDSt.V. Agilolfia Freising-Weihenstephan Catholic student society since 1947.

In 1988, the information centre of the Bavarian Forest National Park was renamed the Hans-Eisenmann-Haus in recognition of his contribution to its founding.

In many Bavarian cities, he has a school for farmers and several streets named after him. He received honorary citizenship from the city of Pfaffenhofen a der Ilm in 1983.

He was also made an honorary citizen of the Technical University of Munich in 1966, and the university named the Hans Eisenmann Center for Agricultural Sciences Weihenstephan after him.

In 1963, Eisenmann was also awarded the Bavarian Order of Merit in recognition of his exceptional service.
