Gheorghe Cozorici was a popular Romanian theater and film actor who was born on July 16, 1933. He was born in Arbore, Suceava and at age 24, he made his debut so far as theater is concerned.

Gheorghe Cozorici played the role of the Prince of Denmark, the lucid Hamlet, the one lost among the thick fogs and dark nights of the North. He served as a worker at the Vulcan Factories in Bucharest at the beginning of the 1950s.

He was subsequently admitted to the IATC, Faculty of Theatre, Acting Section. Gheorghe Cozorici decided to have a feel of theater in Craiova after graduating from school in 1956.

Due to the unique and distinctive voice of Gheorghe Cozorici as well as his enormous acting talent, he started landing big roles in some films and these were roles that projected him into public consciousness.

He received the Order of Cultural Merit class IV(1967) for special merits in the field of dramatic art and class II (1971) for special merits in the work of building socialism on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Romanian Communist Party.

In 1956, Gheorghe Cozorici played a role in Mindrie and he was also featured in Partea ta da vina in 1963 in which he played the role of Dumitrache. He also played the role of a captured Romanian officer in the film titled Forest of the Hanged. The film was produced and released in 1965.

In 1966, Gheorghe Cozorici appeared in both Procesul alb and Rascoala. Other films to the credit of Gheorghe Cozorici include Gloconda fara suris, Prea mic pentru un razbol atit de mare,Michael the Brave , etc.
