Courses on offer
The GH Cosmetology School offers a number of courses in the field of cosmetology. Depending on the course content and the complexity of the subject matter, it may take an individual between one year and two years to complete a course.
There are three standard courses on offer at the GH Cosmetology School. They are;
- Beauty Specialist Course
This course takes a year to complete and appears to be basic foundation for all the other advanced courses in this school.
In this course, students will study the following subject areas; Make Up & Eye Enhancement, Facial Treatment, Nail Technology, Manicure, and Pedicure. Students who successfully complete this course are issued a certificate.
- Beauty Therapy Course
The Beauty Therapy Course takes a period of a year and a half to complete. It appears to have a few additions apart from the course content as found in the Beauty Specialist Course already mentioned above.
During the period of a year and six months, students will be taught the contents of Beauty Therapy which include; Make Up & Eye Enhancement, Facial Treatment, Nail Technology, Manicure, Pedicure, and Massage and Body Therapy. Upon successful completion of this course, students are awarded a certificate.
- Cosmetology Course
The last of all three courses and the one with the longest duration is the Cosmetology Course. It takes a period of two years to complete.
The components of this course are; Make Up & Eye Enhancement, Facial Treatment, Nail Technology, Manicure, Pedicure, Massage and Body Therapy, and Hairdressing. Students who successfully complete this course are awarded with a Diploma in Cosmetology.
How to Apply
The application process to get admission into the GH Cosmetology School is quite simple and not complicated. In order to apply, an applicant must visit the school’s website and fill out a form.
The applicant will be required to provide some basic information. After that, the applicant will have to look through the form and select the course they would like to study under the section reserved for applicant to the Cosmetology School (all GH Schools use the same application form).
Payment for application form must be made first so that a payment reference provided is attached to the form. Applicants will also need to attach a passport picture.
Fees
The fees payable by a student who has been admitted includes several components which will be listed. They are the one-time admission fees, school fees (payable per semester), SRC dues, school uniform, and optional hostel facility.
All together, they make 4,220.00 Ghana Cedis. Students are required to pay for the costs of their external Ghana Education Service Exams.
