Gerd Dudenhöffer is a renowned German cabaret artist, actor, director, and writer who was born in Bexbach on October 13, 1949. His stage and screen persona, Heinz Becker, brought him widespread recognition throughout Germany.
Before pursuing a career in cabaret in 1977, Dudenhöffer worked as a graphic artist and studied graphic design in Munich. He began co-hosting the TV chat programme “So isses” with Jürgen von der Lippe in 1984. Heinz Becker made his solo debut in 1985, and ever since, he has been touring Germany with his shows.
“The Heinz Becker Family,” a television sitcom that Dudenhöffer produced in 1991, ran for seven seasons and became quite famous. In addition, he wrote every episode of the show.
He played Heinz Becker in the 1999 motion picture “Tach, Herr Dokter!” Dudenhöffer has played Herbert Laumann in addition to Heinz Becker in a short film and as a guest star on “The Heinz Becker Family.”
