Gérard Depardieu can be described as a French actor, singer, director, and producer of cinema, television and theater. Gérard Depardieu was born on December 27, 1948, in Châteauroux ( Indre ), and he is currently 75 years old. He was born to René Depardieu and Alice Marillier.

René Depardieu was a sheet metal worker-bodywork trainer, Companion of duty, and volunteer firefighter whereas Alice Marillier was a stay-at-home mother. It must be noted that he naturalized Russian in 2013 then Emirati in 2022.

Gérard Depardieu is also a businesss man in the field of viticulture. Unfortunately, when Gérard Depardieu was just ten years old, he regularly prostituted himself to adult men. He also served as a bodyguard for prostitutes who came from Paris on weekends. He was also involved in thefts and practiced smuggling of all kinds (cigarettes, alcohol), among others.

At age 16, Gérard Depardieu was sentenced to 3 weeks in prison for car theft. Gérard Depardieu worked as an apprentice in a printing house of the Center France press group at age 12 and he was participating in clandestine boxing fights.

Over the years, he has worked with prestigious French filmmakers such as François Truffaut, Jean-Luc Godard, André Téchiné, Alain Resnais,  Bernardo Bertolucci, Marco Ferreri and Andrzej Wajda. He is considered the favorite actor of directors Maurice Pialat, Francis Veber, Alain Corneau and Bertrand Blier and he is said to have made appearances in more than two hundred films.

As a matter of fact, he is the second French actor with the most admissions in France, behind Louis de Funès. He won his first César for best actor in 1981 for his performance in Le Dernier Métro.

One of his greatest successes was in 1990 with Cyrano de Bergerac, which earned him his second César for best actor, the Best Actor prize at the Cannes Film Festival and a nomination for the Oscar for Best Actor.

It must be known that in the active years of Gérard Depardieu, he directed three feature films: Le Tartuffe in 1984, Un pont entre deux rives, co-directed with Frédéric Auburtin, in 1999, and the Latin Quarter segment of the film Paris, je t’aime, in 2006.

He was subsequently accused of rape and sexual assault by several women from 2018 and in 2020, he was indicted. Gérard Depardieu was exempted from military service by a psychiatrist who diagnosed “pathological hyperemotionality”, from which he suffered since childhood.

Gérard Depardieu was married to the actress Élisabeth Guignot. They got married on February 19, 1970, and had two children;  Guillaume (1971-2008) and Julie born in 1973, who both became actors.

Gérard Depardieu and  Élisabeth Guignot separated in 1992 and divorced in 2006 after fourteen years of proceedings. Élisabeth Guignot was born on August 5, 1941, and can be described as a French actress, writer and co-producer.

She participated at the 19th Brest European Short Film Festival in 2004 as a member of the jury. She became Knight of the Legion of Honour in 2008.
