Felix Manuel Lobrecht is a German stand-up comedian, podcast host, and author who was born in Mettingen on December 24, 1988. His unique narrative style and comic skills have made him well-known.

Early Life and Education

Felix Lobrecht’s mother tragically passed away from breast cancer in 1993. He was born in Mettingen, North Rhine-Westphalia. Raised in the Neukölln neighborhood of Gropiusstadt, Lobrecht had to cope with the difficulties of puberty and schooling in an unforgiving setting.

He went to the Hannah-Arendt-Gymnasium in Rudow’s Neukölln neighborhood, but in 2003, he was expelled for acting strangely. He persisted in his studies at the Clay Comprehensive School in 2005, gaining his secondary school leaving certificate in the process.

After that, he worked at a plant wholesaler and a fitness studio until earning his technical college entry qualification in 2008. He continued his schooling despite setbacks, earning his general university entry certification in 2012. After moving between institutions to study political science and economics, Lobrecht eventually settled on the social sciences program at Humboldt University in Berlin.

Career

Small breakdance shows in Berlin served as the starting point for Lobrecht’s creative career ten years before he became well-known. Since 2015, he has gained popularity as a stand-up comic, frequently presenting his unique Berlin accent while enthralling audiences with ridiculous anecdotes, terrible jokes, and deliberate pauses.

His television performances on Comedy Champions 2016 on RTL-II and Cologne Comedy Night XXL in 2016 helped him become more well-known. To showcase his humorous style, Lobrecht started his first live tour, called “kenn ick,” which ran till 2020. He took part in several comedic events, such as Dieter Nuhr’s “Nuhr from 18” and 1LIVE lecture hall comedy.

Co-writing the book “10 minutes? ” Lobrecht showed his ability as an artist. “20 marks!” in 2015 and publishing “Sun and Concrete,” his second novel, in 2017. His boyhood in Berlin-Neukölln and Gropiusstadt served as the inspiration for the latter, which was turned into a movie and shown at the Berlinale in February 2023.

Lobrecht has been co-hosting the popular weekly podcast “Misches Hack” with Tommi Schmitt since September 2017. As of September 2019, the show will only be available on Spotify. 2019 saw him and Schmitt work together again on the 1LIVE comedic format “What are things doing?” In addition, Lobrecht participated in several life hack tasks on the 1LIVE program “How to Do section?” between October 2019 and September 2021.

On September 29, 2023, he received the German Comedy Prize in the category “Most Successful Live Program” for his tour “all you can eat,” capping off a successful year in comedy.
