El Shaarawy can be described as an Italian professional footballer. He was born on October 27, 1992, and currently plays for Roma in the Serie A as a left winger. It must be noted that El Shaarawy also plays for the Italian national team.
The football career of El Shaarawy started off at Genoa and in 2011, he was signed by Milan. He had his major breakthrough during the first half of the 2012/2013 football season.
In the 2015/2016 season, he was on loan with Monaco and then signed for Roma on a permanent basis. Later in 2019, El Shaarawy made a move to Chinese club Shanghai Greenland Shenhua but after 18 months, he made a return to Roma.
It must be noted that he played for Italy right from Under -16 to Under 21. He made his debut for the Italian senior national team in August 2012 during a friendly match against England.
Later in November 2012, in a match against France, El Shaarawy scored his first international goal. He played for Italy at the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup as well as UEFA Euro 2016.
Even though El Shaarawy could have played for the Egyptian national team, coach Hassan Shehata denied him that opportunity. El Shaarawy took part in both 2009 UEFA U-17 Euro and the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
On November 15, 2011 he played for Italy’s U-21 team for the first time in a match against Hungary.
So far as the senior national team of Italy is concerned, El Shaarawy on August 15, 2012, made his debut. In his third cup for the team, he scored his first goal on November 14, 2012.
He represented Italy at the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup. He could not make it to the team in 2014 for the FIFA World Cup due to injury.
He scored the winner for Italy on October 10, 2015, in a match against Azerbaijan in a UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying match. He made it to Antonio Conte’s Italian squad on May 31, 2016.
Later on October 15, 2019, El Shaarawy made a return to the Italian national team after he had last played at the 2018 FIFA World Cup playoff match against Sweden. He scored two goals against Moldova on October 7, 2020.
He signed a sponsorship deal with Nike in 2012 and made an appearance in an advert for the new Nike Green Speed II in November 2012. He also appeared on the Italian cover of FIFA 14 alongside Lionel Messi.
