The Interior Ministry has carried out recommendations given by the three inter-ministerial fact-finding committee that delved into the infamous shooting incident that happened at Ejura in the Ashanti Region.
Mrs. Adelaide Anno-Kumi, The Chief Director of the Ministry of the Interior, on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 handed over a compensation package of Gh¢1,218,897 to three victims who survived stray bullets during the incident.
The three victims, Awal Mesbawu, 17, got Gh¢ 678,519.00, Louis Ayikpa, 22, received Gh¢ 347, 953.00, and Nazif Nuhu, 31, had Gh¢ 192,425.00.
The cash presentation was done as a result of the recommendations raised by the three-member ministerial committee that investigated the unfortunate incident at Ejura.
Presenting the cash at a minimal event held at Ejura Palace on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, the Chief Director at the Ministry of Interior, Adelaide Annor-Kumi, who stood in for her boss Ambrose Dery, the interior minister said the three victims were compensated based on the degree of damage caused to them.
Mrs. Adelaide Anno-Kumi however reproached youth in Ejura Sekyere Odumasi municipality to avoid violent activities that could harm their lives.
