Disturbances which saw the suspension of NPP’s internal elections in the Abirem area in the Eastern region has also led to the impairing of the constituency youth orgaianiser; Mr. Frank Ayim popularly known as kuzor. Mr. Frank who was hospitalized at the Abirem Government Hospital is alleged to have been attacked by Alfred Duah, a contestant in the suspended internal polls.
Mr. Duah is said to be the nephew of the current NPP lawmaker for Abirem constituency and also was competing for the seat of the constituency’s youth organiser.
According to the constituency secretary; Mr. Evans Osei, the Mp for the area; Hon. John Osei Frimpong had allegedly intimidated members of the NPP as he sent some macho men over to the electoral area.
While the attacks took place on Tuesday’s evening at Dodowuraso and thus on March 1, 2022, it’s been confirmed that Mr. Duah has been arrested for further investigations.
Meanwhile the constituency secretary has revealed that the elections have been suspended until further notice.
