Stephen Boss was born on September 29, 1982, and he was an American freestyle hip-hop dancer, choreographer, actor, television producer, and television personality.
He enrolled at Lee High School and successfully graduated in 2000. He also read Dance Performance at Southern Union State Community College in Wadley, Alabama, and Chapman University.
He took part in the American version of So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD) in 2008 and placed second. Earlier in 2003, Stephen Boss got to the semi-finals of MTV’s The Wade Robson Project and also placed second in the television talent competition Star Search.
He worked with South Korean pop/R&B singer Seven as a choreographer. Stephen Boss also trained other artistes who were working with YG Entertainment. In 2007, he was involved with Blades of Glory as a “flamboyant dancer”.
Stephen Boss had a brief stint at South County Classical Ballet where he taught Dancing.
Between 2014 and 2022, he was featured on The Ellen DeGeneres Show as a repeated guest host and he was also a co-executive producer of the program. He also hosted Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings on Freeform and Disney+ with his wife, Allison Holker.
Stephen Boss and Allison Holker also performed a dance routine on Dancing with the Stars and they danced to “Crystallize”. Stephen Boss started working as a Guest DJ on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on April 1, 2014, and later in October, he was named as a cast of Magic Mike XXL.
In 2020, Stephen Boss became a co-executive producer of Ellen DeGeneres’ daytime talk show. He played roles in Perfectus, Ushers and was also a member of Breed OCLA and Chill Factor Crew; both dance troupes.
Stephen Boss and Allison Holker got married on December 10, 2013, at Nigel Lythgoe’s Villa San Juliette Vineyard and Winery in Paso Robles, California.
Stephen Boss adopted Allison Holker’s daughter. Their son was born in March 2016, and their daughter was born in November 2019.
Stephen Boss was found dead in Encino, Los Angeles on December 13, 2022, at the age of 40. He took his own life by self-inflicted gunshot wound.
