Denis Roabeș, popularly known as The Motans, is a renowned Moldovan singer, songwriter, and lyricist.
Born on August 2, 1989, in the Republic of Moldova, Denis had a unique journey to success.
Denis first pursued a profession as a marketing and sales specialist after graduating from high school. He lived and worked in Moscow for three years. He soon realised, however, that marketing was not his true calling, and he returned to the Republic of Moldova in 2014.
Denis had a strange reoccurring dream about tomcats and cats for seven years before beginning his musical career.
Surprisingly, once he began his career as a singer, these dreams stopped haunting him. In light of this bizarre occurrence, he chose the stage name “The Motans.”
The Motans made his debut in 2015 with the release of his debut single “Versus” in August 2016. It piqued the interest of Romanian vlogger Matei Dima, who contacted the musician and was instrumental in releasing and promoting his music in Romania.
To keep his momentum going, The Motans partnered with Delia on the song “Weekend,” which was released in early 2017. The song received a lot of attention and cemented his place in the Romanian music scene.
Denis Roabeș played at the renowned Gala of the Golden Stag Festival in Brasov on September 1, 2018, reaching another milestone in his career.
The Motans won three awards at The Artist Awards the next year: YouTube Awards, Best Song (for “Poem” with Irina Rimes), and Best Collaboration (again for “Poem” with Irina Rimes). This honour cemented his status as a skilled artist in the profession.
The Motans will release his highly awaited second album, “My Rhythm & Soul,” in August 2020. The album includes the number-one smash “Poem,” a collaboration with Irina Rimes, as well as the one-of-a-kind track “Saint Loneliness,” which featured the Black Sea.
All of the tracks on the CD were written by The Motans and produced by a variety of outstanding folks.
The Motans continued to dazzle in 2021, receiving the prestigious Best Live Act prize at The Artist Awards. This yearly music festival in Romania is regarded as an essential forum for recognising talented artists.
The Motans was revealed as one of four coaches for season 10 of “Vocea României” in June 2022, further solidifying his position as a significant figure in the Romanian music business.
Denis Roabeș, as The Motans, has unquestionably had a big impact on the Moldovan and Romanian music scenes. His distinct musical approach, along with an exceptional track record, has garnered him a devoted fan following and countless accolades.
