Dagmar Berghof’s Biography
German radio and television host Dagmar Berghoff was born on January 25, 1943. She is well renowned for her work as an ARD evening news reader.
Berlin was her birthplace, but in 1946 her family relocated to Ahrensburg, which is close to Hamburg, and then in 1957 they moved to Hamburg-Harburg. From 1964 to 1967, Berghoff was a student at the Hochschule fรผr Musik und Theatre Hamburg.
She started her broadcasting career in 1967 at Southwest Radio Baden-Baden, where she served as a speaker, radio host, and television presenter until 1976.
She went back to Hamburg in 1975 and started working for NDR Radio. Berghoff began reading the nightly news for ARD on June 16, 1976 and continued to do so until the year 2000, when she retired.
Berghoff pursued her acting career despite her work as a newsreader, making appearances in TV shows and theatres. She also presented the NDR Talkshow and several music shows.
Since 1983, Berghoff has provided her voice for numerous audiobook recordings in addition to her work in broadcasting. Additionally, she released an autobiography called “Zeit fรผr Mehr.”
“Memories und Einsichten” was published in 1999, while “Dagmar Berghoff liest Weihnachtsgeschichten von Theodor Storm” was made available as an audiobook for Christmas in 2001.
