In this post, I will take you through how to apply for the Cocoboard scholarship and give you in-depth information about the program.

Ghana Cocoa Board has been able to alleviate the educational burden on society. Cocobod recognizes the value of education and its benefits to the country to embark on these educational programs.

COCOBOD contributed to the establishment of the trust schools. The Board donated the defunct Ghana Educational Trust a sum of 5 million Cedis in 1958 for the construction of secondary schools throughout the country.

The money was utilized to create 26 secondary schools, including Apam, Yaa Asantewaa, Ghana National, Labone, Kadjebi, Sunyani, Akim Oda, Konogo Odumase, Axim, and Asankragwa, to name a few. The goal of this program was to encourage young people in rural areas to finish their secondary education in their home communities.

The COCOBOD supports agriculture clubs in tertiary universities. The Cocoa Advocates Movement is a well-established club at the University of Professional Studies, formerly the Institute of Professional Studies (IPS). This group encourages kids to learn about the cocoa industry and develop an interest in it.

COCOBOD has established a Cocoa Scholarship Award Scheme for their wards’ education in second cycle schools as part of its welfare services to cocoa farmers. COCOBOD annually funds approximately 7,500 students in the 3-year stream and 10,000 students in the 4-year program.

The COCOBOD scholarship was structured to give scholarships to financial assistance to a limited number of students in Senior High/Commercial and Technical Schools who are Children/Wards of Cocoa Farmers.
