Christian Heldt can be said to be a German diplomat who was born on April 8, 1963. He has been the German Ambassador to Latvia since November 2020 but prior to that, he was the Ambassador to Kosovo. He was the Ambassador to Kosovo between September 2017 and June 2020. In terms of education, it must be noted that Christian Heldt studied Political science, international law and history in Paris and Bonn between 1985 and 1991.
It is known that he furthered his education and had his Master’s degree in Paris in 1989 and another master’s degree in Bonn in 1991.
With respect to his career as a diplomat, it must be noted that Christian Heldt joined the Foreign Service in 1991.
Between 1993 and 1996, he worked at the embassy in Moscow and between 1996 and 1999, he also worked at the embassy at Tel Aviv. It must be noted that in 2002, Christian Heldt was appointed exchange officer at the French Foreign Ministry.
He later returned to Berlin in 2007 and worked in the Foreign Office till 2008. Between 2008 and 2010, Christian Heldt also served as a political advisor in the Ministry of Defense. He was the head of Department in the Foreign office from 2010 to 2013.
He later became the Permanent Representative at the embassy to the Holy See in 2013 and subsequently became the ambassador to Kosovo in 2017.
