Christian Hein can be described as a former German swimmer. Christian Hein was born on September 6, 1982, and as a swimmer, his main area of expertise was the long-distance freestyle events as well as the open water marathon.
In his active days as a swimmer, Christian Hein is said to have won two silver medals at the 2003 FINA World Championships that was held in Barcelona, Spain. He won the two silver medals with respect to the 5 and 10 km open water swimming.
Christian Hein recorded a time of 53.13.9 and 1.51.06.5 in the 5 and 10km respectively. It must be noted that Christian Hein is coached by Nikolai Evseev as a member of the club known as SVW 05 Wurzburg.
Christian Hein is said to have qualified for the men’s 400-meter freestyle at the 2004 Summer Olympics that came up in Athens. He however missed out of the eight-man final due to the fact that he finished 10th out of 47 swimmers in the preliminary round.
He also finished in the 12th position with respect to the 1500-meter freestyle. Christian Hein also participated in the 2006 European Aquatics Championships in Budapest, Hungary. He took home a silver medal in the men’s 5 km open water race and a bronze medal in the 10km event.
