The president of Abirem North Association of Chiefs and Abirem chief-proper; Obrempong Kwesi Amoh Kyeretwie l has cautioned chiefs to distant themselves from politics. According to him, that will allow for the development chiefs seek for their various communities.
He cautioned the chiefs in New Abirem during a meeting held by the association. The meeting also gave regards to educating the chiefs on the ethics and conducts instrumented by The National House of Chiefs.
Obrempong Kwesi Kyeretwie also urged the chiefs to put the reasons why they were enstooled; which is to foster peace and unity, first. According to him, partaking in politics only indicates a chief’s selfishness as it undermines development of their communities.
He said “chiefs were enstooled by their royal families to promote peace and protect their people as well as seek their welfare. Adding, “It will not serve any good for them to indulge in any selfish interest that could jeopardize the wellbeing of the masses.”
