Growing up in Feldberg, Hübner’s interest in acting grew during his time at an amateur theatre. Following his high school graduation in 1991, he began working as an actor and assistant director at the Landestheater Neustrelitz.
In 1993, he joined Berlin’s famed Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts, where he refined his craft and met influential theatre directors Tom Kühnel and Robert Schuster.
Hübner’s theatrical career carried him to prestigious venues such as the Maxim Gorki Theatre, Schaubühne, Schauspielhaus Zurich, and Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg.
In 2003, he moved into film and achieved notoriety for his roles in films such as “The Lives of Others” and “Magical Mystery or: The Return of Karl Schmidt.”
Apart from his cinematic career, Hübner has made significant contributions to television. He has appeared in the crime series “Post Mortem” and the comic series “Ladykracher.”
Since 2010, he has played the character Alexander Bukow in the popular police drama “Polizeiruf 110.” Hübner was named “Best German actor” at the Golden Camera Awards in 2013 for his outstanding performance in the film “The Good Neighbour”.
