Charles was educated at Cheam School and Gordonstoun. He also spent six months at Geelong Grammar School’s Timbertop campus in Victoria, Australia. He obtained a history degree from the University of Cambridge after finishing his studies.

Charles enlisted in the Royal Air Force and the Royal Navy in 1971, where he served until 1976. During this time, he obtained significant knowledge and skills that would later help him in his eventual role as king.

On July 29, 1981, Charles married Lady Diana Spencer, who later became Princess Diana. William, Prince of Wales, and Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex are the couple’s two sons. Their marriage was tainted by disputes and adulterous affairs on both sides, resulting to their divorce in 1996.

Princess Diana died suddenly in a car accident in 1997, bringing the royal family to its knees. Her death had a profound impact on Charles and the entire royal family, resulting in a national outpouring of mourning.

Charles married his long-term lover, Camilla Parker Bowles, who later became the Duchess of Cornwall, in 2005. Charles’ marriage opened a new chapter in his personal life and provided stability to his relationship.
