Blixa Bargeld’s Biography, Wikipedia
Blixa Bargeld can be described as a German musician who was born on January 12, 1959. He was the lead singer of the band known as Einstürzende Neubauten. He was also a founding member of the Australian rock band Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.
It must be noted that he was self-taught and experimented with a number of audio equipment as a teenager. He hails from the Tempelhof area of West Berlin but he left his parents’ home in the late 1970s. He was featured in a documentary in 2008 that had him visiting his family.
He also touched on his childhood days as well as his parents in the documentary. Blixa Bargeld uses a Fender Jaguar and a Fender Mustang but he was known to have used a battered Höfner Model 173 and a red Höfner Colorama II till they got damaged.
He is married to Chinese-American mathematician Erin Zhu. Erin Zhu was the daughter of the entrepreneur Min Zhu. Blixa Bargeld and Erin Zhu had a daughter together. Blixa Bargeld and Erin Zhu were featured among 37 other design and media figures in the 2010 book Designing Media by designer and IDEO co-founder Bill Moggridge.
They live in San Francisco, Beijing and Berlin. Blixa Bargeld has many albums, EPs and soundtrack compilations to his credit. The likes of Bad Blood for the Vampyr, Recycled (2000), Die totale Therapie, Die Terroristen!, Wings of Desire (as himself, during the Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds performance) and Dandy (1987, directed by Peter Sempel) form part of his filmography.
