Ghanaian media personality and musician, Blakk Rasta has called on Vice Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang to seek medical treatment locally rather than traveling abroad.
His comments come in response to concerns about the Vice President’s health, where the Presidency released a statement on Sunday, March 30, 2024. “For the Vice President’s full recovery, medical experts have recommended she seek further treatment abroad”. This was confirmed in a statement signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Member of Parliament and Minister for Government Communications”.
Reports of the Vice President recently seeking medical attention outside Ghana, has drawn criticism from some sections of the public. One monitored by Ghana Insider is that from Blakk Rasta.

Moreover, Blakk Rasta argued that if Ghana’s top officials continue to travel abroad for medical care, it signals a lack of trust in the country’s health infrastructure. He further criticized the disparities in healthcare access, pointing out that ordinary Ghanaians do not have the luxury of seeking treatment abroad.
Blakk Rasta believes that if government leaders used local healthcare facilities, they would be more motivated to improve the system for the benefit of all citizens.
