Bärbel Schäfer, born on December 16, 1963, in Bremen, Germany, is a prominent German television presenter and producer.

Schäfer’s career in the media sector began when she was a teenager in the United States, where she attended high school from 1980 to 1981.
During this time, she won a tennis scholarship and hosted the talk show “Guests In Our Town.” Schäfer followed a career in the hospitality business after graduating from high school in Bremen in 1984, working as a hotel clerk at the Hotel Europa in Cologne from 1985 to 1988.
Schäfer opted to follow her passion for theatre, film, and television after leaving the hospitality profession. She studied theatre, film, and television studies, German, and art history from 1988 to 1992. She also interned at WDR, a major German broadcasting station, in the early 1990s.
