Barbara Rudnik was a German actress who was born on July 27, 1958, in Wehbach but died on May 23, 2009 in Wolfratshausen. It must be noted that even though Barbara Rudnik was born in Wehbach, she grew up in Kassel and she had two siblings. She was the youngest of the three daughters of her parents.
Her father and mother were a turner and a seamstress respectively. While in Kassel, she had her education at the Herderschule Kassel and got the Secondary School Leaving Certificate. She relocated to Munich in 1976 and worked as a book club representative. Students of the Munich University of Television and Film discovered Barbara Rudnik as an actress.
Due to this, she started having acting lessons at the Zinner Studio in 1978. She got involved in a lot of HFF Munich productions in 1979 and 1980. While with HFF Munich Productions, Barbara Rudnik had the chance to work with the likes of Klaus Emmerich and Michael Bentele.
So far as relationship is concerned, she dated Bernd Eichinger from 1995 to 2002 and was also with the writer Phillipp Kreutzer as well as Munich restaurant operator and star chef, Karl Ederer.There were reports in the media on April 26, 2008, that Barbara Rudnik had been diagnosed with breast cancer since December 2005.
Subsequently, her diagnosis was confirmed by her management. She died due to the cancer on May 23, 2009. She was buried in Munich’s North Cemetery. Prior to her death, she was present at the premiere of the film The Baader Meinhof Complex in Munich.
She also made an appearance on the Johannes B. Kerner program and took part in a reading tour with author Kerstin Cantz in October 2008.
Barbara Rudnik has many films, radio plays and audiobooks to her credit.
Barbara Rudnik over the years, received some awards. Some of these awards are the 1996: Adolf Grimme Prize for The Sandman, 2002: Nominated Golden Camera for Deadly Trust and 2006: Golden Camera as Best German Actress.

Barbara Rudnik died on May 23, 2009, due to breast cancer.
