Who Is Ayliva?

Ayliva born Elif Akar in 1998 in Recklinghausen, is a German musician of Turkish descent.

Ayliva developed a passion for music at an early age and started writing her own songs when she was 10 years old. She picked up playing the violin, keyboard, and a number of other instruments.

Ayliva first studied studies in psychology and German at the University of Bochum after completing her secondary education. Later, she transferred her attention to social work. She continued to be passionate about music during this time.

Ayliva attracted attention in October 2020 when she shared a singing audition called “Dein Heimfahrt” on Instagram.

A few of days later, she posted an audio clip of the song “Plastik,” which was produced by the well-known rap producer Lukas Piano, who has worked with artists like Samra. Music lovers were soon drawn to her ability and distinctive approach.

Ayliva posted the first audio clip of “Your Fault” on Instagram and TikTok in December 2020. On the latter platform, she kept posting more singing videos, one of which was a song in which she decried politics and the media.

Ayliva’s debut song, “Dein Schuld,” was released in March 2021 by Whiteheart Records, a division of Warner Music Group. The song examines unhealthy connections.

The song’s message is further emphasised in the music video, which opens with a voicemail from her purported ex-boyfriend threatening her. Numerous additional women shared their own experiences of violence with their ex-partners in response to the popular TikTok extract.

“Wenn ich wein,” Ayliva’s second single, was released in June 2021 and peaked at number 31 in Germany.

She co-wrote the song’s new rendition, “When I Cry,” with Canadian vocalist Ali Gatie in November of that same year. Her third chart breakthrough came from the song “Butterflies,” which had verses in German and an Arabic chorus.

Ayliva had the chance to perform as Alicia Keys’ support act in German arenas in Berlin and Mannheim in June 2022, mesmerising crowds of over 15,000 people. She performed a 30-minute set of her songs with the help of her band.

After working with a number of rappers and vocalists that speak German, Ayliva published her debut studio album, “Weißes Herz,” in July 2022.

On the German album charts, the album peaked at number six. Her single “Bei Nacht” reached number 13 in the German charts six months after its release, which was her greatest place in the singles charts to that point.

Ayliva and German rapper Mero released the video single “Sie Weiß” at the beginning of January 2023. The song rose rapidly to the top of the German singles charts and remained there for an extra nine weeks.

Ayliva has received nominations for her musical talent, including one for the 2022 Bravo Otto award for best national singer. Her expanding record demonstrates her adaptability and mastery of numerous musical genres.
