Who Is Antonio Rüdiger?

Antonio Rüdiger is a German professional footballer born on March 3, 1993 in Berlin where he was raised by his parents. Despite coming from humble beginnings, Rüdiger managed to fight against the odds to become a top center back.

As of 2023, Rüdiger plays as a centre-back for Spanish giants Real Madrid and for the German national team as well. Since he became a professional over a decade ago, Rüdiger has gone on to establish himself as one of the best defenders in the world.

After his initial one year loan agreement, the club decided to sign him permanently after an impressive one year. He signed a four year contract in May 2016 hoping to play for the Serie A side for at least four years until 2020.

However, his time there was cut short after Chelsea came hunting in the Serie A and offered him an attractive five year contract that he could not reject. He went on to have a successful time in England where he won the champions league in 2021.

After his five year deal with Chelsea expired in 2022, he decided to walk away as a free agent. He quickly signed a four year deal with Real Madrid, taking over the number 22 shirt.

Away from football, Rüdiger is a husband and a father of two children, a son and a daughter.
