Annika Lau, née Kipp, is a well-known German radio and television presenter who was born in Munich on March 12, 1979. She has made a lasting impression on the media industry. With a career spanning radio, breakfast television, and magazine presenting Lau’s trajectory is a tribute to her brilliance, versatility, and persistent enthusiasm for communication.

Early Life and Education

Annika Lau’s early academic achievements enabled her to complete her Tutzing high school education in 1999. She started her media career after achieving academic success, starting with an internship at Radio AWN, a radio station in Straubing. It was at this station that she finished her training and acquired invaluable practical experience, setting the groundwork for her future success in the field.

Lau graced the broadcasts of Antenne Bayern, a well-known radio station in Germany, from 2002 until 2005. She presented several shows during this time, displaying her talent for amusing and relating to crowds. Weekend shows like “Die Bayerische Nacht,” “Samt und Sonntag,” and “Guten Morgen Bayern” grew to be associated with Lau’s lively and captivating presenting style.

Lau continued her job in radio while going back to school, intending to become a teacher and majoring in German and history.

In a major career shift, Annika Lau co-hosted Sat.1’s breakfast television from January 2006 until April 2008, sharing the platform with celebrities including Jan Hahn, Karen Heinrichs, Nadine Krüger, Gaby Papenburg, and Marlene Lufen. With this, Lau made the switch to television broadcasting, where she applied her talents to the visual medium with ease.

During her tenure as a co-host on Sat.1 breakfast television, she collaborated with an energetic group of people to produce a morning show that connected with audiences throughout Germany.

She kept expanding the diversification of her holdings after this prosperous period. From April 2008 to January 2012, she worked as the host of the Sat.1 magazine. She took on a new task in May 2012 when she began anchoring “Push – Das Sat.1-Magazin,” the evening magazine that replaced it. With her several jobs, including moderating the Sat.1 Gold service magazine “Echt Gold – Mein Magazin” from April 2013 to March 2014, Lau’s hosting skills remained impeccable.

Annika Lau’s brilliance has been recognized throughout her career, and from July to September 2015, she presented the Focus TV Test magazine on Sat.1 Gold.

During a pause in the season of “The Great Baking” on Sat.1 due to the birth of her twins, Lau demonstrated her flexibility in 2017 by playing Enie van de Meiklokjes. This showed that despite reaching personal goals, she remained dedicated to her craft.

Annika Lau went back to her old haunts from June 2021 until April 2022, when she graced Sat.1 breakfast television once more, this time covering for Alina Merkau while she was on maternity leave.

She joined RTL in May 2022, marking the start of a new chapter in her career. She started hosting the morning magazines at RTL, including “Punkt 6,” “Punkt 7,” and “Punkt 8,” as well as the esteemed “Gala” show. Lau’s switch to RTL demonstrated her ongoing relevance and the industry’s recognition of her talent as a host.
