Andreas Breynk was said to have been born either on September 26, 1888, or July 4, 1890, in Duisburg. He was a German football player and Olympian in athletics. He died on July 12, 1957 in Schwelm.
Between 1908 and 1911, he played league games as a member of Preußen Duisburg as part of the championship organized by the West German Game Association. In the season after the 1907/08 season, Andreas Breynk won the district championship with Preußen Duisburg.
Andreas Breynk and the team lost 2-3 against Munich-Gladbacher FC 94 in the final round of the West German championship. It must be noted that for his last two seasons, he played in the Rhine District North/Ruhr and in the West Group of the Rhine District North/Ruhr.
He relocated to southern Russia after he had hanged his boots in 1911. He played against a Belgian national team on May 16, 1910. That match was his only international match. In that particular match, he came on as a substitute Peco Bauwens in the 55th minute.
The match was watched by about 8,000 spectators. With respect to track and field, Andreas Breynk was eliminated in the heats over 800 and 1500 meters at the White City Stadium. This was at the 1908 Olympic Games in London. He placed second in the German Championships over 1500 meters in both 1906 and 1909.
Andreas Breynk was known to have also placed second in the 400-meter race. It must be noted that he became the first German as of 1908 to have stayed under 2:40 minutes in the 1000-meter run. He made a time of 2:37.0 minutes.
