The Honourable Deputy Majority Leader has disclosed to the Ghanaian parliament that the President; Akuffo Addo won’t be available to address them on the 3rd March, 2022 as required.
Hon. Afenyo-Markin rather indicated to the house that they will be duly informed on when the president will read his address to them.
“In presenting Business statement for this week, an indication was given to this honorable house that the president is expected to deliver the message on the state of the nation on Thursday, March 3. The indicative date given no longer holds. Hon. Member would be duly informed of a date when the president would deliver his address to this house,” he said.
As per constitutional requirement, the president is to address the state and the lawmakers every three months to inform them on the government’s businesses and plans intended for the next three months. The President also account for his previous expenditure. The instrument which is in Article 67 demands detailed description of the government expenditure for the next the next three months.
