Aimo Heilmann can be said to be a German former swimmer. Aimo Heilmann was born on October 22 , 1974 in Leipzig. He represented Germany at the Olympic Games in 1996 and won the bronze medal. Prior to representing Germany in international games, he was with SC Magdeburg and trained with Lutz Wanja.
However, after Aimo Heilmann had participated in the Olympic Games in 1996, he moved from SC Magdeburg to Potsdamer SV. It must be noted that Aimo Heilmann won the gold medal at the 1991 European Junior Championships with respect to the 4 x 100-meter freestyle relay.
He also won the silver medal in the 4 x 100-meter freestyle relay. Heilmann finished in the fifth position when he competed in the 100-meter freestyle at the German Championships in 1994. A year later, he finished in the second position with respect to the 200-meter.
Aimo Heilmann in 1995, also won the German Short Course Championships over 200 meters. Aimo Heilmann won the 50-meter track in 1996 and finished in the ninth position with respect to the 200-meter freestyle track.
He also won the bronze medal with the 4 x 200-meter freestyle relay team and received the Silver Laurel Leaf from the Federal President for the feat. Aimo Heilmann also won the 4 x 100-meter freestyle relay in 1997 at the Short Course World Championships in Gothenburg.
